It’s 4wks since my surgery and feeling loads better but can still only walk for about 30-40 mins before my tummy/abdomen starts to ache, this maybe because I’m a bit over weight and have an apron tummy also my abdomen/tummy is still numb. Is this normal? I get a pain when I go to the toilet for a wee but goes once I’ve been.

Hi Kemali, you are doing really well. I had that aching (like a dragging feeling) for many many months after surgery. It’s to do with the fact that your insides still have a lot of healing to do and they complain as soon as you have done too much. It will eventually fade but be prepared to live it with for quite a while longer yet. I also remember someone telling me that it takes about 8 weeks before nerves start growing back so maybe that would also explain the numbness ?

Just keep up with the regular but manageable amounts of exercise and I am sure you will see the improvements week by week. Patience is the key ! It was almost a year before I could say I was fully recovered from the effects of the surgery x
