Hello,

I am due to have vertical abdominal cut hysterectomy very soon. I have had two c sections. Are the recoveries comparable or completely different please?

Thanks

I have had a full hysterectomy - but not cesarean - I did ask the nurses if there was any difference. They said totally different - as this operation takes your internals out - not just a cut where you take a few weeks for this to heal. Be prepared to be totally wiped out for at least 8 weeks. No driving. No lifting. No housework. All I did was walk every day - but very little at first. I had previously had abdominal surgery and had a totally swollen numb belly for at least 8 months - so make sure you have plenty of nice loose fitting comfy clothes and shoes that slip on easily. Hope all goes well for you I have no regrets after mine.
