hi everyone I'm new on this chat. i had TL hysterectomy on the 24th of august, i had the worst pain i ever incountered in my whole life, my doctor saw me 6 days after the surgery and was chocked i was not able to stand streight or even walk properly.had to run some tests and apparently i had a bladder infection and infection in my belly button.took antibiotics and pain went on for another week. got better but now my belly is still swollen and still have numbness and very hard to wear pants. i did the operation over seas and had my last check 7 days ago before my flight.
does anyone still have the pain and sensetive feeling around the belly even after 4 weeks of the operation?

you still very early days especially if you had an infection and had a flight. Maybe best idea to get checked again pain is expected and swelling for a good while after op but would probably best to see GP to check for urine infection again. Do your cuts on your belly look nearly healed now ?
Alice is right, you will still have some pain especially as you have had an infection and your swelling can take a while to go down.
Your scar will be numb for mths due to everything knitting back together.
You are only 4/5 weeks post op so just make sure you have plenty of rest. If you have an abdominal support belt then wear it as it will help with swelling. Try and wear loose clothing for the time being. As for pants (knickers) buy big granny knicks for comfort as they come over your belly so dont irritate...i bought big knicker shorts and they were superb.
Im on my 6th week...my 4th week i got an internal infection due to bathing (2 courses of anti biotics and now have flu...so feel pants beyond) but it does get better. You will feel better. Just remember hunny...youve had major surgery and it will take a while for your body to adjust. Sending you a hug xxxx
Sounds like you have done too much too soon, you need to rest as the other ladies said. Im 8 weeks since my TLH and endo excision, and Im only now starting to feel more normal.
Belly is now not so sensitive, wearing big knickers to cover whole of your belly helps anything rubbing or tickling it.
Thank you for your reply. Yes I still have my ovaries. My dr told me if I can work it's better . More active more prevent blood clots. Today s the first day I go to work and thank god made it through
I had no bleeding at all, slight loss immediately post operation but that's expected. I think you are doing too much and need to rest more, your body has been through a lot and needs to heal, big hugs xxxxx
