i have had 4csections tubes ligated and always anaemic, last year i had very tender breast and all preg symptoms but test were neg ,then suddenly had heavy bleading with extreme clots so i went for observations with scans i had a bulky uterus and i was placed on norihisterone and transenemic acid ,mefenamic did the job ,but i stopped the norihisterone, just didn't like it i use the transenamic once in a while if the bleeding doesn't want to stop,i went for MRI and doc said i have adenomyosis i hate the fact he suggested a hysterectomy ,i am going 49 i don't want another operation ,so he suggested i shold have a mirena and they take a tissue from the womb lining ,now for over 6mths i have changed my diet to vegs and fish no more anyhow eating but my waist line is still big its such a pity i really don't know what to do does the mirena work? my pelvis aches ,i can't do most things but the bleeding isn't that bad anymore ,especially no more clots but my iron level is 7they said too low ,i need advice please help

What do you think about having a spinal for hysteroscopy+d&c+mirena insertion

History of adenomyosis

Is it safe or can it be done with a mild sedation ?

beauty14. Please let us know what you decided and how things went.

I've suffered foe 3 years with extreme pain and heavy bleeding and clots and blood transfusions and Iron iv, but only advise is hysterectomy. Hoping to lose the excessive weight i've gained due to constant tiredness and unable to exercise as i'm in too much pain afterwards or it starts my period off early. Tried all the drugs but not the Mirena as the doc said it would be pointless for me and probably cause more pain...which i can't even imagine to be possible. I just want to get on with my life, be able to go swimming and running and climbing and cycling...and get out of the toilet!

So i be very interested how you get on.

best of luck to you all xxx

Hi yes I had the TAH done now ovaries left and I am 6 wks post op I will be extremely honest with you it's a life saver for me , I look and feel so youthful and fresh If I knew it will be like this although many people said it I would have done it earlier to be frank it's the best discussion I have ever made also I heard many are having a tummy tuck with it now I was too scared , go for it sister it's a life saving thing I don't have any pain apart from trapped wind here and there I can't believe the recovery either don't waste your life have the hysterectomy I would say prepare for it in terms of food in the freezer , staying in your room for a week or 2 you will be happy in the end
