Calling All Readers!

This is our November 2020 Reading Rabbits Book Posting. You can post your comments and suggestions about any book/magazine/newspaper that does/doesn't have to do with any medical issues on this posting. You can mention about your favorite authors, as well. This posting will be pinned to the Pinned Posts for easier access.

I’ve been reading β€œThe Chef”, by James Patterson for a few days since I finished β€œThe Sea Is My Brother: The Lost Novel”, by Jack Kerouac.

In β€œThe Chef β€œ, there’s a Detective named Caleb Rooney from the New Orleans Police Department who is also a Chef that owns a restaurant with his ex-wife. The restaurant and his nickname are both β€œThe Killer Chef β€œ. β€œThe Killer Chef” is run as a food truck in New Orleans. At the moment, everyone is getting ready to celebrate Mardi Gras. The bad part is, there’s someone who is possibly framing Detective Rooney (he quit being a Police Officer, but is still helping the Police as a Private Detective on the side).

I’m planning to start chapter 44 this evening and then once I finish β€œThe Chef”, I plan to read: β€œRose Madder”, by Stephen King (one of my favorite authors).

Okay, now to you! Can’t wait to hear what you’ve been reading recently or plan to start for this month. Happy reading! :-)

I finished "The Chef", by James Patterson last night before bed. The ending was really sweet and fantastic. I'm going to try the recipes hopefully in the next coming few weeks.

I'm going to start "Rose Madder", by Stephen King later today.

Have a great day! :-)

Sorry for late reply, I have just finished the New Girlfriend by Sheryl Browne,

It was about a young lad Joshua - who died on the railway tracks, with talk of it being put down as suicide, which his Monther Cassadra and Father in law Adam didn't believe, it turned out later on in the story that Cassandra knew actually what happened.

A young girl Kim fell in love with Joshua (they met on the train) she was obsessive and later down the line it turned out that she was spying on him and his family, Kim found out that Joshua fathered litte baby Liam, which had been kept a secret due to it being his best friends (Ryans) wife - Gemma. After Joshua died, Kim turned up at his parents house saying baby Samuel (which we learn later on is actually Liam (Gemmas baby) There is blackmail and money being exchanged by Cassandra (Joshuas mother) to stop secrets getting out.

Kim came from a broken home and needed to get away from her family, and this was her way out, Joshuas family supported her and she got her own little home, until things stopped adding up, Cassandra and Adam ( Joshua's Mother and Father in law) Adam had done a DNA test which come back to show Kim was not the mother of Samual.

It turned out in the end that the secrets Cassandra wanted to keep secret came out in the end anyway, and Joshua - who she always told Adam was her son, was actually not, he was the son of a lady who was on drugs and unable to take care of him, so she offered money to keep Joshua, it also transpires that Gemma's Husband Ryan was acutally Joshuas Brother, but they were not aware of it.

The ending was a little unclear really but I think, Kim was on the phone to Joshua when he tripped on the track and Cassandra had been running to him and shouted out that Ryan was his brother, she did get charged.

It was a very interesting book, with all the blackmail and lies going on throughout the entire book

Best wishes

Debs
