Slow Cooker Ideas

I'm going to have a very busy few weeks coming up, so I'm planning to give my slow cooker a good workout. I typically make the same 3 things in it though: Pulled pork, Chilli and a tomato based Casserole (which is basically a chilli without the spice), so I'm seeking some new recipes.

I've had a look through our slow cooker topic section and have some great ideas from Zest already, so thank-you!

What's everyone else's favourite slow cooker recipes?

Hi Cooper27

I particularly like the look of Carol's meal ( Caz28 ) here, which is a 'Slow cooker chicken curry' - I am considering making that, as it looks so scrumptious!:

It was really tasty and I’ve since made it without the chicken and more veg, I actually added a pack of stir fry veg and it was lovely x

Thanks, have you tried any of the recipes yourself? I never have much luck with random recipes!

I wish I could but I find them too complicated.

I keep my meals very simple - cooking times between 5 and 15 minutes max using pan except the following for which I use Slow Cooker:

1. Cheap cuts of meats which are generally tough.

2. Vegetable soup

3. Einkorn and Emmer wheats

Have you tried googling some? You'll find tons of them there.

I was hoping for some tried and tested ideas - I have a large collection on Pinterest, but more often than not, they're not very good...

Got it, I get mine off the internet, kind of picky though. It depends what I put, things can tend to get soggy, especially veggies. I Love casseroles, one dish.

Yes, that's the problem with mine, the veg generally all comes out tasting the same too. And the whole thing tends to be a bit watery...

I tend to add some chia seeds about an hour before the whole thing is due to finish cooking, and that thickens it up quite nicely. That was a tip I got from Hidden

That's a good idea!

Maybe put the veggies at the Very last moment? I like my veggies kind of crunchy. My thing is soup, I make it in bulk so this way it's always on hand, Im less likely to the wrong stuff?

Maybe, I worry they'd be a bit too crunchy though? I'll experiment a bit, see what happens.
