Changing habits

Hi everyone, I’m new here. My hope is that I can improve my relationship with food. I used to row at uni, which has led to an unhealthy mentality about food and losing weight.

Since leaving uni and joining the world of work, I’ve been struggling with my weight but more importantly my attitude towards eating and losing weight. So I’m here to lose weight in a healthy and maintainable way.

Tomorrow’s menu will be:

B - porridge with almond milk, frozen berries

L - ham and cheese in a whole meal wrap, a side salad

D - veggie sausages, sweet potato mash, broccoli and cauliflower (maybe gravy)

S - pretzels, clementine and an apple.

Haven’t been shopping yet, so can’t confirm the calories yet!

Your meals sounds yummy and healthy. I need to sort out my relationship with food too.

I love crisps, cakes and sweets. I need to reduce. I believe there must be an alternative.

You sound just like me! I gave up chocolate crisps and carbonated drinks for a month in January last year and again in September. Doing it for just a month seemed manageable and I found some alternatives, I still eat some now but no where near what I used to do!

Hi Lilrhib, well done for joining us and you've taken the first step and thats the secret to me, by taking a new regime one step at a time eg: one meal and one day and soon it will be second nature and the next thing you know you will be comfortable with yourself so you will have a positive attitude to yourself and therefor your food....a win win situation 🏆

And I wish you well and you're in good company on here for all things healthy eating.

Jerry 😊

Perhaps this is a moment to try vegan, especially a whole food plant based one where you can eat as much as you like and maintain / lose weight without a problem. January is the best time just visit veganuary.com for lots of ideas and support.

I have been experimenting over the past few weeks. Most of my evening meals and breakfasts are vegetarian if not vegan.

My lunches need work, I’m not so creative at the moment. But as Jerry above mentioned, one meal at a time!

One meal at a time sounds like a good idea. Rome was not built in a day as the saying goes.
