Find something that you can do once your meal is finished. Some sort of craft or hobby. Go out for a walk ( it does work). Have a drink that you can sip. Fruit or herbal tea or water with ice and lemon.

Maybe don't have chocolate trifle in the house. If its there it will be calling to you constantly.

Hmm chocolate trifle sounds good! The only advice I can offer is to have a glass of water or cup of tea after your meal and insist you do this before you have any other food. Sometimes it helps the craving pass... wonder if you drink alcohol with your meal cos that can weaken resolve too?

Good luck and dont let one mishap put you off, there is always tomorrow to get it right :)

Well, I had to look up a recipe for chocolate trifle. My goodness, that looks good! Is there a chance you could be addicted to sugar and/or carbs? I would think most of the population could be at least to a degree. Both are addictive, both can cause withdrawal, and both can affect the mind. (Everyone is different.) When I say carbs, I mean grain products in general like bread, boxed cereal and pasta, and refined grains in particular. I can relate to the need for chocolate, for sure. I've switched to dark chocolate to try to made it all at least a little less bad! And I limit myself to 2 squares a day, though like a previous poster suggests, it would be best to just not buy the stuff in the first place!

Pampering session? A face mask and painting your nails could help?

Go for a walk so that you are away from food. Maybe when you come back you will have changed your habits.

Your stomach may take longer to realise it's full so you keep eating until you feel over full

Just leave it for 10 minutes. Promise your self you will have it then- but then you probably won't want it.

Not what you're looking for?
