Just starting my journey to get back in shape..1 month and 10 lbs down. I've started tracking my steps and they are a lot lower than I thought they'd be 🤦♀️I'm on my feet at work all day so I'm trying to figure out how to build my endurance because after work I'm just tired.

How did you start building up to your current step count.
Hi srn_here
Firstly, welcome to the Health Walk forum. Congratulations on your progress that you've made in starting your journey to get back in shape - that's a great result to be 10 lbs down in a month.
Thinking back to how I used to build up to my current step count, I think I just took opportunities to include walking in my regular routine. I find having a step-tracking fitness app helps me as well. I sometimes vary my pace, to make the walk more interesting - speeding up then slowing down.
I gradually increased my walking. On days when it was raining or I didn't fancy braving the outdoors, I would use a video on utube to enjoy some walking routines. They are fun and feels like being in a walking group!
I think just 5 or 10 minutes can be energising - but I realise it can be tough to motivate to do that after a long day on your feet at work. I think setting a realistic goal can be helpful too. Plus not being hard on yourself if you don't quite achieve it.
Just be kind to yourself, and start gradually - maybe add a couple of minutes here and there.
Most of all, enjoy your walking.
