Loving the Lake District

A good day today which we utilised by walking up Helvelyn. I have to say though it was freezing at the top so it was a very quick photo before descending.

Lucky you, it looks amazing there.

I love walking in the mountains.

in reply to

Thank you. Yes the Lake District is stunning.

in reply to

I'll go someday.

Enjoy your walking 😊

in reply to

It's definitely a place worth visiting, I love it.

Thank you, I love walking😀

I usually walk in the mourne mountains in Northern Ireland, have you heard of them?

in reply to

No I've not although I have been watching the Mountain Rescue programmes on TV, they've finished now, and they were featuring an Irish MR team so I saw some if the beautiful mountains there.

in reply to

Put them on your bucket list they are amazing.

in reply to

Definitely they do look amazing 😀

in reply to

I hope you make it 😊

in reply to

I'm certainly going to look to see what holidays there are there😀

in reply to

Northern Ireland is a small country so if you stay in Belfast you can drive to anywhere in a couple of hours. The mourne mountains and Newry are less than an hours drive from Belfast.

It's a great city and the countryside is amazing too 😁

in reply to

Thank you for the tip in where to stay. I'm England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales there are beautiful mountains and scenery😀

in reply to

Northern Ireland and Ireland are two different countries 😊

I agree though that they all have beautiful mountains and scenery.

If you do decide to visit, let me know and I'll tell you of some of the nice places to visit. 😊

in reply to

I didn't realise they were.

I'm not one to go abroad to a got country and sit on the beach. We have so much glorious countryside so much closer.

I used to work with someone from Southern Ireland years ago she was so lovely and had a lovely soft accent.

in reply to

Yes, so if you do visit both, for example you will need British sterling money for Northern Ireland and euros for Ireland.. The accents are a bit different too.

Belfast is the capital city of Northern Ireland and Dublin is the capital of Ireland etc..

But the scenery is amazing in both.😊

in reply to

Well that's a goal to visit both. Something to do in the future.

in reply to

It's good to have goals like yours, always something to look forward to.. 😁

in reply to

I totally agree, we are given one life and we have to make the most of it😀

in reply to

I agree with you, life is short make it an adventure 😊

in reply to

Precisely 👍

in reply to

Good minds and all that.. 👍

I’m desperate to go to the mourne mountains. My mother comes from Newry and used to live in a cottage called mourne view as a child but she moved to London. I’m hoping to take my parents back to Ireland to visit for the last time.

in reply to Agoodenough

I was in Newry yesterday, you really need to go, I'll keep an eye out for that cottage.

That would be a lovely thing for you to do Ali, your parents I'm sure would love it😀

Thank you Zest. We couldn't walk up any mountains today weather was lovely but the wind was incredibly strong, we won't go to the tops when it's like that.

Excellent ! I admire your steps.
