I found out a long time ago that I could not trust the NHS or any part of it to keep my records up to date, so I have my own record system, every time I see a doctor I ask for a report to be sent to me, same as when I go into hospital

I also found this out, the neurosurgeons omitted that I had had bleeding in the brain in the summary discharge note, consequently noone including myself or my family knew about the injury in the brain and I wasn't discharged 1 week later without being offered therapy! It took the diligent investigation of my father to correct the medical records. If it weren't for that, doctors would still be assuming my brain is uninjured!

thnks fr ur replygood idea il tel my dghtr in a min wen she rings me or il forget

I was on phenytoin for approximately 6 months after my injury, I had two seizures at the time of the injury and since I hadn't had any seizures during that time, the consultant decided that it was safe to stop taking them. I haven't had a seizure since.

oh good news thankyou.did u stop taking them or cut down first

On the advice of the consultant I had the dose reduced over a several weeks or even months, I can't remember it's been 12 years. You should probably see a consultant for advice, I wouldn't just stop taking them it might be dangerous.
