welcome the reason I found this site was thru headway, my son has had his TBI since Nov 2010 he still has a large window of skull missing but due to swelling and seizures its not been possible to plate him yet

would like to chat with others who have been in our position

regards

gill

sorry to hear this, I have been fortunate in not having seizures. I do have a plate which is not visible, I can feel the cold through it though, but that's a small price to pay.

I was given medication to stop swelling, obviously every case is different

Hello, guys.

I only found this site this morning after contacting Headway last week. I found their support extremely helpful and supportive. I gave my right temple a severe bash getting into my wife's car 10 days ago. Everything seems surreal, and I'm having problems remembering peoples names.

The adviser reassured me that this was quite normal, and consistent with such an injury - hopefully won't last more than 2 -3 weeks.

It's really good to know such professional advice is available. I would encourage anyone to use it. It provided immense relief for me.

hi nice to see you on the site , i had my tbi over 15 years ago and then it was a bit of a stigma, people didnt understand and didnt want to, at least todasy there are places like headway cardiff, and i think swansea where like people meet and can spend a pleasant day without fear of being ridiculed or laughed at.

You got your TBI from a motor bike accident? Well at least it was doing something you loved hey hun.... Have you got back in the saddle yet? I cannaot ride my Honda as i have balance problems and weakness in right side so i got a BOOM trike. This TBI wasnt going to stop me doing what i loved. Pants tho when it comes to TRAFFIC! i cannot slip down the side of it on a trike, lol. What bike did you ride p82? fellow biker -Lainey x
