Good morning- I hope your employer is being supportive of your situation. The best place for advice is Citizens Advice Bureau. They understand how the system works , what you can claim and when you can claim it. They will help deal with the paperwork . If you are able to set up an appointment with them which can be face to face or over the phone, make sure you have the facts about your employment contract to hand - when half pay starts, for how long, etc

I hope you can get the advice you need.

I used remploy at the time and they negotiated a phased return to work for me ( I was allowed 2 weeks of full pay and that's it 😠 from my then employer).Remploy were great......not sure if they still exist.

Good luck

I would assume that you would be entitled to some form of universal credit, but I would contact citizens advice for support or go direct to the DWP. PIP can take time, and be prepared to go to appeal if refused, many people have to go this route when first applying.

I am so sorry you are going through this.

I have a feeling that PIP is for chronic conditions. The time I applied was a year on. You can double check on the DWP page but I am pretty certain.

If it’s immediate loss of income then I think the universal credit is going to be the way to go. Best to use the citizen advice as already mentioned.

Good luck
