Almost thirty years to the day since my 'event' myself and Sharon went back to Leipzig to see the sights and have some good memories of the city. Here's myself outside the hospital that saved my life, Sankt Elisabeth Krankenhaus.
I actually remember this visit too!

It's touching seeing you there in Leipzig Andy. . . .
I became weirdly attached to Salford Royal and, though I'm not a crier, I sobbed my little heart out as my son drove me home the night of my discharge (set him off too !)
I guess awakening from a long 'sleep', to safe surroundings with constant care and concern, felt like rebirth and it was the leaving which seemed alien ; a big wrench.
I hope you & Sharon did make some good, extra memories . . . .

Do you know what? The hospital visit became a bit of an afterthought to be honest. We just had a really nice couple of days seeing my old haunts, going to a gig (our primary reason for going) and witnessing how massively the city has changed. We had a great time and will possibly return one day. The four flights, two each way put us off a bit however.

Still waiting for surgery. It'll be mid 2025 (& that's after a 19month wait so far 🙄).

Really ? Looks like you've been chasing ghosts out there. Yes, I do remember the fire and its miserable consequences. For some reason I also recall the remnants of badminton gear being a bizarre bit of comedy ?
The waiting has honestly been a depressing wake up call. After a history of waiting only a couple of weeks or less for treatments, this is scary proof of an NHS on its knees.... 😟.
