Hi people,
Very new to the website. I have a question for you. Do you ever feel like you are hollow inside after my AVM? I can't tell you when it started, but it was after my injury. So is it just me? Or is it common after injury?
Thanks

Really common for Brain injury sufferers I'm afraid 😕. I'm not sure of the physiology but suspect its partly physical and partly the brain going into survival mode.took me 12-18 months to find any sense of "happy".
Keep trying to find new things /possible places to find some fulfilment 🙏
Welcome! Very much so!! Hope u find as much support here as we all have. Keep safe
Hi I totally get what you are talking about. I have a feeling of emptiness and numbness. I'm only 6 months after injury so hoping it passes but only time will tellYou are not alone x
I try and feel fine about myself. Unfortunately I have a very bad speech I'm impediment, and most people treat me as if I am hollow. Most won’t even recognize me for the intelligent person I still am.
”Hollow” is such an excellent description. I have used the term lonely or empty, even when I am surrounded by people who love me. But hollow is much closer to how I feel. It comes and goes. It’s getting better. Talking about it is helping me. I wish you the best and hope this online community offers come comfort
I'm not sure if the same feeling but I feel very lost. Life before falling ill to now is so different like almost feels like an out of body experience.
