not been active for a while, many reasons for this...sean appears to be fairly happy at new home,i remain suspicious of course(but wont go into that)Having gone through 4 placements now i find it all very confusing the vast differences.there is clearly a problem with social care(i kid you not guys!)i dont profess to be karl marx or a musketeer, but "all for one/one for all" is ringing true here.I have some issues, questions, someone will answer them.it would be a foolish person that tries to stop me.

on a lighter note, poor mr socks is having a hard time.down to only 1 doggie pal now, they all died.2 staffie girls, one at end of road another leaps out from nowhere to really go for him.the cats hate him too.he remains baffled...i think that in a former life he was a hippy type!until next time "peace man"!!!

Hi DBH, Nice to hear what's up.

So glad Sean is doing well, it's a load off. Let's hope it continues well.

Sounds like more afoot in the system, and you are on the case, as usual.

Do remember to take a breather while you can. Mr Socks sounds like he needs the company while waiting to make new doggie friends.

Big hug to you, lovely

Hi I do hope your son is settling in but like you know that the whole care industry is in tatters .. some great staff and some appalling staff .. I’ve been unfortunate to see it myself and worked in several different companies over the years pre TBI … when younger I ignored it and when older I told management nothing happened and the guy I’m talking about is still there doing the same job on a one to one with a man with longtime TBI ( how ironic I worked with head injuries pre accident) I left 5 years ago 😥.. problem is they can’t get staff so anything is better than nothing ….

Next company again I left .. company would let us take clients out in our cars post covid when other companies had started doing this ( including mental health team) thi was extremely detrimental to clients mental health and I was watching clients deteriorating weekly .. plus the dreaded work colleagues who again 3 years are still there … this was working with complex mental health ..

I left but started up self employed to work with complex needs as I loved the job … was planning to work with two of the clients from my previous job which I did for for 3 months and then TBI 😢😢😢 . When I was well enough I still visited these clients and kept in touch by texts in between .. I could drive and has ops on shoulders but remained in touch regularly … even with my speech stammer 😁 sorry that was very long but like you I have seen way too much myself included dealing with My injuries 😢😢 … your son is lucky you are there … but I will end on there are also some amazingly good people working in these places it just impossible to get rid of them unless they commit murder …. Hi, what a struggle you are having, it is bad enough you having to see your loved one as they are, without having to watch out for "carers" not doing what they are paid for. Is it so hard to look after someone who is having problems? Do they really think that the person they are looking after seriously means to be nuisance? In an ideal world all carers would be vetted by HealthUnlocked family members, wouldn't that be great. My Dad had dementia and we were told we were "so lucky" to have a psychiatric nurse looking after him. Everything seemed ok but Dad seemed very subdued every time she was there, one day I walked in to see her screaming and swearing at him right in his face, it took me three months to get her out of there, because no one would believe me, and because the company had no one to replace her. I'm sure you are doing all the right things, but it's not the extra stress you need. You want to leave there after visiting knowing he will be well looked after and hopefully happy. Sending love and hugs to you both.

It's so sad to think you can't trust people to do their job. When I woke up in intensive care after brain surgery, there were 3 unfortunate ladies who were brain dead and a very elderly lady with a breathing tube who kept getting out of bed. There were 2 carers on nightshift. One was only a young girl but she was lovely. I remember her talking to all the patients as if they were sitting up and talking to her. She made me feel calmer as I was quite agitated. We need more people like this. Pay the people who care and sack the bad apples. I hope Sean settles in.

Think of you often D. Good to know Sean has settled. I guess there are bound to be issues of one sort or another in such a complex environment ; fingers crossed they're fewer & less damaging from now on. Sorry Socks is missing his pals but glad he still has one at least ! 🐕‍🦺

Take care of yourself m'love.
