Hi everyone

Does anyone suffer with chronic nerve pain in there head. I’ve been to hospital today and they are saying that that’s why I’m in so much pain it’s excruciating all day and night it’s so unfair they have said I need to take pregabalin but I’m worried as it makes you sleepy does anyone else take this.

Hi , my daughter takes pregabalin for nerve pain in her head and face she is on 300mg . This amount seems to keep the pain at bay and causes no side effects at all .

Hi braininjurysurvivor, I suffer with bad headaches rather than nerve pain, although if I have to bend down to pick anything up the pain is pretty bad, and these headaches are pretty constant, I get very little relief from them. I have tried a lot of pain relief but it doesnt agree with me pregablin being one of them, I take paracetamol and tipimarate it doesn’t get rid of them completely but makes them livable, wish you lots of luck finding the right one for you love Alice xx

Hi , I suffered a b I in 2020 and I still get nerve pain and headaches but as time goes on it’s less frequently. I called my neurologist who referred me to have a CT scan. Nothing obvious showed up

I am currently waiting for an appointment with the migraine clinic to see if they can recommend a stronger pain killer. I’m currently on co codamol when I need them.

I can tell now that when the pain starts from the nape of my neck I take the pain killers before the pain radiates up to my head. I also use cold compress on the neck area as well. If you catch it at the right time the pain killers work. Apparently it’s a common side affect but my neurologist says I shouldn’t have to live with it . Maybe keep a diary of when you get the awful pain because it might flag up the cause?

I hope this helps and good luck 😉

Hi, I sympathise as I had similar/ same. A constant nerve pain in my head for over two years. The word headache doesn’t begin to cover it! I was prescribed high dose Gabapentin and it made me feel dull & groggy but it did take the edge off the pain and make it bearable. Eventually I was able to reduce the dose and finally stop taking it. Do what works to make life bearable - and the good news is it does improve with time.

Hi ye, I have taken pregabalin for a number of years, it was originally prescribed by a sleep clinic to aid sleep, it didn't help at all, but it was found to have good effect on stabilising my mental state.

Hi I take Pregabalin, 150 mg a day.I take it for migrainous attacks, not with pain but all the other kind of effects. It changed my life and it does not make me sleepy.

It changed my life.
