Getting there

6 months since my stroke and 4 weeks since I last used my walking stick and went back into the classroom and taught 3 lessons today. Went really well, only working 1 day a week until Christmas but over the moon as I didn't know if I'd walk again, let alone be able to manage classes.

It's been a painful journey, but I've been working on my physio for a few hours everyday (and will need to for a long time yet)and am well on my way back to doing all the things I was before, at least as well as can be expected with no feeling in my left hand and foot! Never give up!

Hi, Congratulations on your recovery and getting back to normal.

Also glad you are taking it steady and work is helping you get back in a sensible manner.

If the numbness in your left foot and hand doesn't return its not the end of the world. Its amazing what you adapt to.

Good luck ,

Pax

Well done Ste on achieving so much in only 6 months ! Keep on testing your barriers very gradually to reach a manageable level of working. As Pax has said, it looks like you're taking the sensible (& recommended) approach to edging yourself back into your former life.

Onwards & upwards... 😉Cat x
