Husband has TBI with mobility and cognitive issues. He receives State OAP, full attendance allowance and Disability badge, he’s not eligible for PIP due to his age. Is he eligible for the Motability scheme please? Thanks guys

Hi. Here is a link to a page where you can check eligibility:

I have a Motability car and I have found the scheme to be great. I hope it works out for you both.

Best wishes. 🌼

I don’t think so as it’s part of pip which has to be awarded before retirement age . Thereafter it is attendance allowance , but it doesn’t have a mobility component I am afraid !

Hi, alas i doubt it as to be on mobility scheme you must be on high rate mobility.

I have often wondered why if pension age and become disabled why you cant claim this. I feel become frail and illness may be an accepted part of aging but to suffer a disabiliting ( think thats a word)injury has nothig to do with age.

There is probably a good argument why there is a cut of age for pips i just cant thik of one.

Sorry this does not help you.
