THE WEEK AHEAD.

I'm anticipating some overwhelm this week and going to have to make sure I set aside some decompression time. There's a bit of fight in the post this coming week.

I've been pursuing a complaint with the NHS and had my member of parliament helping with this. NHS (current health board) are still refusing me a neuro psychology and psychiatry assessment despite my private sector Clinical Psychologist recommending it.

NHS have said a general psychiatrist is good enough and have closed my complaint, which begs the question "Why was there no recognition of the after effects of my TBI between my first encounter with psychiatric services in 1993 and an assessment from Autism Scotland in 2017 ???" I saw numerous psychiatrists and psychologists in those intervening years and none of them spotted my post TBI difficulties (the finer details are in my story); in fact, they dismissed any suggestions I made on the matter, so I disagree with the NHS assertion. My next step is the public services ombudsman and I'm exhausted just thinking abut this process.

On top of that, I've just found out that a previous health board have just used my experience as a case study as part of a training programme without my explicit or informed consent. I feel an intense sense of privacy violation. I had discussed the possibility of using my case with my old health board as a learning experience three months ago but it was just at the discussion stage and there was still some independent reports to be provided before I would be happy with giving consent, the health board knew this but went ahead anyway!

Two separate bouts with the NHS behemoth this week and I'm feeling punch drunk already.

That's alot to have to deal with n Ive been there with similiar situations. For me..as much as I was right ..I had to eventually throw in the towel because"Pick ur battles".My health worsened trying to fight for what was right n I finally figured out, when dealing with hospitals, doctors n even police..they r teflon n r backed by people who have great lawyers n tons of $.

I wish u the best n hope things go great.

Don't forget about "u" n ur health in the process.Nothing is worth ur health suffering more.

Have had similar fights with everyone and just kept going. There's one thing I learned that may help you. Not sure if you have the same thing in your area but here we have a communities solicitor and their job is to challenge decisions made in your area by the health authority and council etc. It may be worth finding out if such a thing exists where you are. In Wales it's funded by the Assembly so there is no cost.
