With a Head Injury you suffer from so many issues, some you usual expect; memory, headaches etc. the others somewhat softer but just as hard to deal with recollection, self doubt and many more.
We were having lunch and wanted some mayonnaise, Went to the fridge, not there! Hunted high and low around the kitchen, I had bought some hadn't I. looked in my recycling bag - empty jar of mayonnaise! Sure I had bought some. Another desperate hunt around the kitchen, nothing.
Stil pondering on the mayonnaise issue days later and purchased another jar. Then a day later went to put something in the microwave - and light illuminates the missing mayonnaise.
Now the second mystery. was it me, my recently BI'd wife, teenage grandson, son or some mischievous house elf ?

Last month I searched purse/pockets/whole house/car, and contacted Tesco customer service desk, before cancelling my debit card.
I waited 7 days for new card & pin no. (borrowed cash from daughter in meantime) and the day after new card arrived I found the old card at the bottom end of my mattress .............underneath the fitted sheet !
Of course obvious place to look for a bank card under the bed sheets!
Bank cards were a blessing and burden after I had recovered enough after my injury to go to shops. I didn't have to work out the notes or change but used to leave the card behind - 7 cards in one year !
I must admit I've found mine a blessing during these months of Covid. It means all I need to concern myself with when venturing into the supermarket is mask, hand gel and debit card, all tucked into jeans pockets.
And swiping means I never need to part with my card (other than when it's beneath the bed sheet !) 😵 x
Somewhere in my house there is a vacuum packed hunk of cheese that went missing about three years ago.........I hope those elves had a massive fondue night with it! 😄🌸
Same in my house - food disappears all the time. Last night there were two cooked sausages left - gone! Upto now, I have been blaming it on my 6ft, 12 stone 13 year old grandson but it could be the little people - and not his 4 ft 11 grand mother !
A friend, who HASN'T had a BI, came back from the Supermarket and put the shopping away, nothing unusual there until...... The next day, she finds the BREAD neatly stacked behind the TOILET and the TOILET ROLLS... in the Freezer, worst of all SHE did it!
My mischievious fairy appears regularly - i lose ear rings, glasses, phone but sometimes I find a note that I've put in a jeans or coat pocket - good times lol
We had a spooky "elf" event in one of the cottages we were renovating.
We had stripped the wall paper and cleaned up. A few weeks later a silver ring appeared underneath a radiator. We peaked behind and there was nothing else. A few weeks later a £20 note appeared. Thren a 20 Euro note!
The Lady that owned the house before us was into wildlife especially owls, so we donated the money to the owl sancturary.
One of the biggest turnovers are the house key elves, they keep on moving them when I put them “in a safe place” I’m watching out for the little devils
