Isolation happens in different situations, at different times for those that have been through a life changing experience, however we are all experiencing this now. Room 23 talks through what helped me get through those days, weeks, months.

I Went through isolation training in the special air service, but back then i was a younger man,im now a 60 year old man,and find this lockdown solation very difficult, having a brain injury due to several strokes and suffering with ptsd due to my army career, these are key factors in not being able to cope too well, because i have a terrible sleep problem,i have not slept properly since 1979,that was my first taste of Northern Irelands troubles,a two year residential tour of Ballykinlar, under operation banner 1979 to 1981,i never slept fully after my first two months on duty.I understand Kavib, about those feelings you feel, even in normal circumstances, everyone can feel isolated inside,a person can be surrounded by family and friends, yet feel quite isolated, you are not alone in your feelings, and there are no cures for these feelings, take me,during the day im kind of ok,but come evening time, when my family are all tucked up in bed,im here alone, thats when isolation hits bad,yet when i think back to my days patroling the streets as a soldier,i was surrounded by my bruvs, yet alot of times i felt really isolated. One thing i have learnt is music is a great coping method, also talking about your feelings is important, telling a family member or a friend or even a stranger, how your feeling,is the right thing to do,remember the saying,a trouble shared is a trouble halved.
