Has anybody come across any GP or self test to diagnose and score the impact of dizziness / disequilibrium. To see if I am safe to drive, use stairs and walk?
I am not falling over, but not quite walking straight.
Some of it is side effects from coming off Duloxitine.
I’ve had terrible dizziness after coiling and stents in September . Consultant thinks it’s the huge aneurysm that’s made the brain swell and hopefully , in time, it will be reduce . I’ve stopped falling but it’s an awful feeling being discombobulated every day. I had to learn to walk again but need to use a walker. Fed up with it all but glad I’m still here. Hopefully the next mri will show the coils still in place and the beast is tamed a bit . Big hugs

After many years of vertigo (feeling of rapid falling/room spinning) I saw an ENT specialist who performed the Brandt Daroff maneuver and, after initially feeling very sick and dizzy, my dizziness went away. I couldn't believe it as for years I'd been treated with the Epley maneuver with no success and drugs which were a short term measure.
It's something you can practice at home quite easily but, so far, one session (in Sept last year) has done the trick for me. I still suffer with poor balance, but that's a permanent issue resulting from a SAH 7 years ago.
Ask for a referral from your GP to an ENT clinic where they can discuss your symptoms and decide which treatment will be right for you. Cat x
I have had a manoeuvre done, but cannot remember which one.
It didn't have any impact on me.
Sorry to hear that, but perhaps you need further investigations to get to the root of the problem. I was just lucky I think to have hit on a good doctor at ENT who was very thorough...….. after years of misdiagnosis.
