Does anybody know how to go about getting DNR in place. I have thought long & hard, & even longer & harder, over & over again, I just need to get it sorted but how ?

If I remember right it is as simple as writing a living will and getting it added to your medical records by your GP.

A living will does not have to be complicated. You could ask citizen's advice for better guidance or maybe the headway helpline.

Thank you, not as complicated as I thought

Hi Sammm2k

You can get this done by your GP

just make an appointment and speak to them.

I had to do this last year with my mum to get in place for my Dad who was in very late stage of dementia. In his case he went to Day Care a couple of times a week and was also on their files and on any hospital records. Our family where all involved in discussion about it and we all agreed although so hard to do that it was definitely the best for him to have this in place. It means that if you become ill they will still treat you but no intervention ie resuscitation will be used.

Hope this helps
