Hi Bex, are you stood in a hole? I agree (unsurprisingly), there should be a new precedent here (possibly even a new group) of 'happy posters' that way if you feel a little down, blue or sad, you can log onto this thread/ group (whatever) and be either cheered up instantly or someone might light the fuse which will make you happy later on

Hello you I don't feel down but checking this site ever few hours leaves me feeling slightly down (that and hardly no replies doesn't help which is why I hardly post) I got sunburned yesterday and soaked by a wave or two of freezing cold water and I am dreading the amount of emails waiting for me in my inbox at work next week I don't wanna come home in two days how was BIC (brain injury cafe)? But I do think you are right

Well Bex, I wasn't actually suggesting that YOU were down as a person, but YOU as a reader or anyone who needed to be cheered up! On the good side of being sunburned - at least this will remind you to never go out without Factor 30, and nature being nature (and a little forgiving possibly due to your earlier kindness with the toad) realised that cooling you down with water would help with the sunburn. So that was 'The Dawlish Connection'. Here in 'Sunny Bristol', the BIC was held outdoors (due to the weather), we had the usual discussions on 'Brain injury and the lack of understanding', I was tempted to stay longer than the lunch hour because of the weather but I (reluctantly) thought better of it - If I took the afternoon off because of a bit of sun I may be banned from going. No Olly but earwigging on other peoples conversations, it sounded like 'psycho' turned up last BIC and made everyone feel uncomfortable although she is welcome as a Brain Injured person, because she made everyone feel on edge, the consensus is that they would prefer it if she didn't go again.

I hope her name wasn't Rosanna, I am a bit worried about going to headway on Monday due to the possibility of Rosanna and Olly kicking off but hopefully Tina will plask more staff to be there (she hasn't replied to my email of would you like some clotted cream fudge? I still going to buy some (at £1 a box how can I not) and give a box to the staff and a box to the group (I will see if I can save a box for BIC) there is a diarrhea bug going around as the lead enetertainer (Mark Price) has is and hasn't been in for 2 days making chitty chitty bang bang and star trek hard to perform (but highly amusing watching the staff panic ) and I have it but I don't intend of spending the rest of my time glued to the toilet so am going to go into the pharmacy and get anti diarrhea tablets and k don't fancy a 2 hour train journey on Saturday with it either

Great photo bexx :)

We have a campaign coming up in May called You, Me, and Brain Injury which aims to tell the story of how brain injury affects the survivor, their family, friends, colleagues etc. Happy stories are very welcome!

Find out how to get involved at: headway.org.uk/get-involved...

Looking forward to some happy posts from you too.

Best wishes,

Andrew

Hi Bexx. Thanks for posting. I guess its inevitable that BI sufferers are going to feel a bit depressed, at times anyway. But I for one am a great advocate of the positive outlook/thinking. Things can always be worse. I tend to focus on what I have (family, friends, job, house erc) rather than what I don't have - although I am of course very aware of the latter. I really do think maintaining a positive attitude makes a difference though. All the best.
