Good advice on ear plugs

This is how great this sight is. Today I took my partner, Alan out for the first time, since leaving hospital and it was my daughter's baby shower and having read how other's cope with noise, by using ear plugs, I decided to take some with us. After arriving and having lots of family members, overwhelming Alan, he was feeling out of sorts, so in the ears they went and what a difference in him and how felt. He then coped for 2 hours. Brilliant and if I hadn't read it on here, the afternoon could have been short lived. Thank you :-) x

I found great relief too using earplugs after my brain injury.

Try to get a referral to your ENT consultant and audiologist.

After using earplugs for a very long time it can increase your sound sensitivity.

I am now using hearing aids that are sound generators, this is helping to retrain my brain and hearing to not be in sensory overload from my environment.

I’m glad your partner is getting relief and able to be in busy social settings 😃

That's interesting to know. Due to the accident, his hearing on the right is affected and he may possibly need a hearing aid, but will first be retested in about 4 months. I will now ask about the aid you are using :-) x
