Ditto the coma experience and I don't remember at least a year of my life before (retrograde amnesia) and several weeks after (post traumatic amnesia). I got blue'd and two'd to hospital - but much to my sons frustration I don't remember! Thankfully I did remember I had a son .......... but mine was still at pre school and the boy that came to visit was at school and had school uniform. I didn't remember so quizzed everyone as to who had bought his uniform and sewed in the name labels!! And yes lots of other life lived has vanished too so for me ....... it didn't happen ....... did it?!?! I've got the matching tracheostomy scar from ventilator tubes which was also one of many!

I can't imagine 'losing' that length of time, my own loss was confusing enough as it is

As you say in your clip ...... I often try to remember ...... but I don't! That bit of my life has totally gone and isn't there to be remembered! It's kinda weird isn't it?!

It's weird, confusing, frustrating, out of reach. Impossible to explain to anyone unless they've been there...

No coma here, in fact by sounds of it I was only unconscious for minutes, I was awake of sorts when the ambulance arrived.

But my memory stops on the way to work, around 2 minutes pre, I have a collection very weak memories some in the ambulance some at hospital, and a number in the month after. With most I can work out when they happened but I don't know it.

For example I remeber a kind voice saying they needed to cut off my clothes, it is very faint and audio only I assume it's in A&E majors.

My wife does snort now at the TVs/films when people awake with full memory!

My accident was start of December I wasn't really remebering things correctly with time until the New Year. I did though buy my wife a fantastic dress! I'd be desperate to help Christmas shopping, so we went shopping on the bus, I promptly shut down so my wife parked me in a cafe, being watched by the waitresses, while she rushed around shopping, including the fantastic dress.

I have a GPS trace so I can see my self riding to work, as per normal and then speed goes to zero. I,ve assumed I some how lost control, it's Bushy Park so no cars infact quite lucky someone found me so quickly! I don't know what happened though I have to say I don't care about that, amusing blokes almost all ways want to try to work out how, women tend to ask how I am heh.

We don't remember 'cause there's nothing there. Our brains weren't creating memories at that time ; too busy dealing with the physical effects of the trauma I suppose.

I've had most of the blanks filled by family and a friend who came everyday throughout the whole damned rigmarole ! xx
