Cant see the point in the change either

Oh dear, change management- nil points.

I do hope we don't lose any dear friends from this forum due to the change.

It would have been nice to have some clear warning of when the new interface would become default.

And I don't like the circular frame on the account picture :-(

Or that the next post it suggests I read is 'popular' but the last activity on it was 3 months ago.

I found I hard to get on, every time I have to scroll to the box with headway instead of having the option to go straight to our page.

The option of new posts or the post were last commented on seems to hav gone too.

Why change something that not boken

Depends on the circumstances, might be re-host to reduce costs.

Have to say there isn't the same 'community' feel here & looks quite barren and sanitized. :-(

The only positive thing I've noticed so far is that it doesn't keep interpreting my scrolling down swipes (Win phone) as attempts to report posts :-)

Really miss seeing the activity stream of a single forum as default though :-(

Hi all,

Thank you for your comments about the new forum design. I understand a new design can be difficult to get used to and there are some 'teething problems' that we are currently experiencing.

I believe HealthUnlocked created this new layout in response to a lot of feedback on the old design, which was causing issues for a lot of users. All members should have received a private message a couple of weeks ago explaining the change, so I am sorry if this did not happen.

Instead of visiting healthunlocked.com, visit healthunlocked.com/headway and you should be brought straight to this community, instead of having to select it as Danslatete mentions.

For all issues you are experiencing or other comments you have, please can I ask you to report them directly to HealthUnlocked? You can do this by clicking/tapping the little green bubble in the bottom-right corner of the screen and selecting 'Send us a message' at the bottom. Alternatively click the 'Help' link at the top, and you'll see options to email the company. The email feature can be used to get technical support too.

Many thanks to all of you for your support. If we keep feeding any issues we encounter back to HealthUnlocked I'm sure the community will be running smoothly before long - apologies for any disruption in the mean time.

Best wishes,

Andrew

Hi Andrew, and thanks for the pointers. I have made quite a few suggestions to the Healthunlocked feedback forum, not that it has had much effect.

What they are failing to appreciate is that in many of the forums, and particularly this one, we have many members who struggle just to login and read/reply to posts.

It is precisely these vulnerable members who will suffer because they are unable to voice their concerns easily to the developers who need to hear them.

The procedure to leave messages and suggestions asked for email addresses/username and password to be re-entered too. On top of this, the format of the feedback system is also completely different to using the normal forum. It's fine if you have a good understanding and experience of using feedback systems, but honestly, could we really expect brain injury survivors to respond directly to the developers in sufficient numbers to make their voices heard?

We see this kind of prejudice regularly in the benefits and social security systems, so I am somewhat dismayed that it has happened, however unintentionally, in a system that is supposed to be, in part, for their benefit.

Sorry for the rant, and please don't feel this is in any way aimed at Headway, it certainly isn't. I've been in the IT and Systems Development business long enough to see the results of failure to engage end users appropriately in change management.

Hi Devastated,

Thank you for getting back to me about this. I think you make a very good point about the feedback system, and we certainly want to make this as easy as possible.

I'm going to post a message about the new format including instructions for the feedback system. I'll also invite users to post their issues in reply to this, then pass details of the thread on to HealthUnlocked so that everything is taken into account. Hopefully this will give all of our users an easier way to report issues.

As far as I'm aware, HealthUnlocked staff are working through issues one by one and prioritising them into urgent issues and ones for future updates. Between all the communities there are a lot of members so this may take some time, but everything reported is a real help.

Thank you again for your reply and your patience as we all get used to the new format.

Best wishes,

Andrew
