When the Earth is Spinning and You're Not

Every day that passes I'm reminded that the days are passing. Morning, Night, Morning. The earth keeps going on every day. The world doesn't end just because I am not functioning in it. I hate that I'm not in college and doing normal things for my age. I don't want to cope, I want a new reality.

I think that exact same thing all the time.

The fact that I think that also changes nothing, it's like banging your head against a brick wall, it aint coming down and it hurts your head.

Have to agree with BSA...

And add that if you don't like the reality you have, then why not have a stab at making yourself a new one? It could be fun and who knows what you might achieve...

The problem is that I really want to go to college. But I already tried that and it didn't work.

You are making progress are you not? Haven't you got a job now?

That's not to discount the problems. But measuring your self up to what might have been, or might not have been, life is nothing if not curious.

Sometimes in life we have to take a detour to get where we want to go...

If we want to climb a mountain and we start but find the route is too difficult or our path is blocked we have the choice to

a) give up and go back down where we bemoan that we couldn't climb the mountain - we might even blame the mountain for being unclimbable or blame the guide for sending us the wrong way or the equipment for not being good enough - and we can let that failed attempt colour our life and restrict us from trying

or we can choose to

b) look for a different route to get up that mountain...even if it means we go the long way round and it take us ten times as long or we have to get a team of people with different equipment to help and support us along what we know will be a difficult climb.

And sometimes in life, despite everything and even when we try our best and have the best support and the right equipment we may still not be able to achieve our dreams...

and again we have choices...

we can sit and cry about our lost dreams or we can find a new dream to follow...

one thing I have learned to be true, is that you cannot move forward if you are always looking back... a brain injury makes life more challenging but life isn't easy to begin with... ;)

I just read the title wrong, I thought you'd said "What on Earth is Spinning?", and I was going to say "It's an exercise class, when you use a funny exercise bike, and you just have to cycle really fast..." Oops!
