DON'T KNOW IF ANTHING WRONG WITH YOU OR NOT VJ.

I OFTEN SLEEP IN SNATCHES. NOT AWLAYS IN A BED QUITE OFTEN IN A CHAIR.

ARE YOU EATING WELL ENOUGH? LIGHTHEADED /DIZZY MIGHT MEAN LESS OXYGEN GOING TO THE BRAIN.

TRY SITTING UPRIGHT WITH BACK STRAIGHT AND TAKING SEVERAL SLOW DEEP BREATHS - IN THROUGH YOUR NOSE, OUT THROUGH THE MOUTH, THAT MAY HELP STOP THE DIZZINESS OR LIGHTHEADEDNESS A LITTLE.

IF NOT SOMEONE ELSE MAY COME UP WITH ANOTHER SUGGESTION OR FAILING THAT SPEAK TO YOUR DOCTOR OR PHONE HEADWAY MONDAY MORNING. HOPE YOU GET IT SORTED SOON. SORRY FOR CAPS, JUST ANSWERED ZEB SOMETHING AND FORGET TO TUR CAPS OFF AFTERWARDS.X

I had a SAH in September 2010. I wake up at least 3 times during the night but I also had a pulmonary embolism and DVT so my legs have really suffered.Add in Restless legs syndrome and I can understand whyI don't sleep well. Slowly my body has adjusted to the discomfort but I am often very tired during the day. I would go back to your doctor for help. Your dizziness could be a result of the SAH but you could also have some form of vertigo or labyrinthitis.I hope things settle down for you but try to stay awake during the day if you can. Good luck.

YOU ARE CERTAINLY NOT ALONE IN THIS.

MY SLEEP PATTERN HAS BEEN RUBBISH FOR THE LAST 4 MONTHS. FOR SOME REASON I CAN'T SLEEP IN BED ONLY ON THE SETTEE. I LET MYSELF DO THAT SO AT LEAST I DO GET SOME SLEEP.

. I DIDN'T KNOW WHY.SLEEP SEEMS TO MAKE ME FEEL SO ILL. I MENTIONED THIS TO THE NEURO WHO SAID IT WAS DODGY NEUROTRANSMITTERS & OTHER BRAIN CHEMISTRY ISSUES CAUSED BY MY BI. NEURO ALSO AGREED THAT IT'S B ECAUSE I'VE BEEN UNDER A HUGE AMOUNT OF STRESS FOR THE LAST 6 MONTHS. STRESS IS A MAJOR FACTOR IN BAD SLEEP . I TENDED TO WAKE UP IN THE MORNING FEELING SO ILL - NAUSEOUS, WITH EYES THAT WON'T FUNCTION, A MASSIVE HEADACHE & CRIPPLING ANXIETY. MY NEURO PUT ME ON ANTIDEPRESSANTS WHICH HAVE HELPED A LOT. I DON'T FELL SO ILL IN THE MORNING AND THE ANXIETY IS CONTROLLED WELL. MAYBE WORTH TRYING IT. HEADACHES ARE PART OF THE BI SO PAIN KILLERS ARE THE ONLY OPTION FOR ME

. IT IS WORTH TRYING TO AVOID STRESS I HATE IT WHEN PEOPLE SAY THAT AS IT'S SO DIFFICULT BUT IT IS TRUE & MAYBE TALK TO THE NEURO ABOUT POSSIBLE BRAIN CHEMISTRY PROLEMS & STUFF LIKE THAT.

BEST OF LUCK

YOU ARE HAVING A REALLY ROUGH TIME OF IT. I'M SO SORRY.I EMPATHISE WITH YOU SO MUCH.

MYHEADACHES ARE CLUSTER & THE ONLY THING THAT WORKS ARETHE TRIPTAN GROUP OF DRUGS.I TAKE MAXALT MELTS-, RIZATRIPTA- LOZENGES THAT MELT ON THE TOUNGUAND ARE REALLY EFFECTIVE . AFTER 12 YEARS OF TRYING EVERY PAIN KILLER KNOWN TO MAN I HAVE AT LAST FOUND THE ONE THAT WORKS. I AM ALSO ON LAMOTRITINE FOR EPILEPSY CAUSED BY GI,, PROPRANOLOL FOR THE HEAD PAIN BUT THE NEURO SAID THE CIPRALEX ANTI DEPRESS ARE OK WITH THIS MIXTURE OF DRUGS. COULD IT BE A CASE OF FINDING THE RIGHT MIX OF DRUGS THAT COULD HELP WITH THE INSOMNIA & THE HEADPAIN.

I GAVE UP SPEAKING TO THE GP YEARS AGO, HE SAID HE WOULDN'T DEAL WITH BRAINS AS IT'S TOO SPECIALISED. I ONLY EVER SPEAK TO THE NEUROLOGIST (& THE NEUROSURGEON IN THEOLD DAYS) THEY KNOW WHAT THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT & CAN HELP. GIVEN THE SEVERITY OF YOUR SYMPTOMS TRY TO HAVE A SERIOUS TALK WITH HIM/HER. THERE MUST BE SOMETHING THEY CAN DO, YOU SHOULDN'T BE BEING LEFT WITH THIS SEVERITY OF SYMPTOMS.

COULD IT BE A SLEEP DISORDER? I'M NO EXPERT AT ALL BUT HAVE SEEN A SERIES ABOUT SLEEP DISORDERS & PEOPLE SEEING HORRENDOUS THINGS WHEN A SLEEP & IT WAS CALLED SOMETHING LIKE NIGHT TERRORS WHICH ARE TREATABLE. THEY WERE REFERRED TO A SPECLIALIST SLEEP CLINIC. COULD IT BE WORTH ASKING NEURO ABOUT THIS? I DO OPE YOU CAN GET THE HELP YOU NEED, IT'S MISERABLE LIVING LIKE THIS.

THE FIRST THING I REMEMBER WHEN I STARTED TO BE A BIT WITH IT AGAIN AFTER THE BI WAS THAT I CAN'T READ A CLOCK ANYMORE, THE HANDS ARE MEANINGLESS LINES. STRANGE HOW THESEWEIRD THINGS HAPPEN ISN'T IT.

TAKE CARE & I FEEL FOR YOU.

It not unusual to have insomnia after a Sah I had one last last year and I had to ask my doctor for something to help he was at first reluctant to give me anything due to my San but eventually gave me amitripylene which have made a difference ! Have you discussed your sleeping problem with your doctor as he might be more receptive that you think to giving you something short term to help you sleep ! I hope I've been able to help you and good luck with your recovery !

Sorry to hear your still having bother getting your doctor to help ! If this continues I would consider changing the doctors practice as it sounds if your doctors not interested ! You can complain to your local health board also stating that you feel you are not getting proper care from your doctor ! Please let me know how you are getting on with this matter. Take care
