Just been diagnosed with both an overactive thyroid and high iron in my blood. Although on Carbimozole for my thyroid, with an endocrinologist apt in Jan, my GP rang me to tell me about the iron level he said he couldn't tell my anything about the iron level as it was beyond his knowledge. Just would like some information about this problem and am worried about the impact of my medication is having on my liver and other organs.
I carry the female hemachromatosis gene. I believe my Son that lives in Japan has it based on his iron and ferritin levels
