I have no cold or flu symptoms, have a bit of a sore throat but they have just recently found thyroid nodules. I am extremely careful about my GF diet but I have had diarrhea and feel generally like I might have been glutened. All I have eaten is chicken, salad and potatoes and kiwi fruit
Anyone got a clue? I have just spent ... - Gluten Free Guerr...
Anyone got a clue? I have just spent the last 2 days mainly asleep. I feel like I have been drugged. Going to docs tomorrow.
There is a lot of bugs going about, my friends children have been ill with a tummy bug.....or you may been glutened...it's difficult sometimes to find out what's made you feel unwell... I know when I've been glutened it takes 4/5 days before I start to feel any better..
Sorry I can't help....
Janie
When you say they have found thyroid nodules how did this come about?
My parathyroid count was out at 90 so they did both an ultrasound and a radioactive uptake scan. On both they have discovered thyroid nodules of 1.5 cm and that I have chronic thyroiditis. I also have 4 enlarged parathyroid glands but I knew that which is why we have been monitoring my PTH. I am on 150mcg of thyroxine.
Mia thyroid problems can make you feel very fatigued. Are you seeing a good endochrinologist to monitor it?
I am seeing an endocrinologist but am discovering that thyroid problems are as much of a battle with GPs and endos as Coeliac disease can be
Hi Mia.
Do you use the Thyroid UK site? thyroiduk.healthunlocked.com
I found it very helpful when I was diagnosed.
I get extreme sleepiness as my main glutening symptom - virtually no stomach stuff. I can't see why any of those foods would cause it though!
Ask the questions on Thyroid UK they are a lively bunch and can give you advice on the blood test scores. Some endos are clueless and just rely on TSH stats.
I wish you good luck with help, I am so tired at times, getting out of bed is a chore and I generally fall asleep over breakfast (not through choice) so I know how infuriating this is ( I have fallen asleep peeling potatos, standing up with my fore head leaning against the top cupboards!! ) = BIG red blotch on head lol Hope you fell better soon
Don't know if this helps, but for a month or two after I've been glutened, my stomach reacts with bloating and diarrhea to stuff I'm normally fine with, particularly anything spicy and/or lots of oily food, and that gives me fatigue - but not the endless sleeping which you describe. Good luck, friend.
