Not that I'm aware of. Exactly how high? If it's mild it might be idiopathic. Slightly bigger increases can be caused by a number of things- such as COPD. But if the increase is significant then you might need to be tested for a couple of more serious conditions, polycythaemia vera, for example. Does your GP/gastro know about the results?

Yes I'm under a blood guy, he said its not worryingly high just higher than normal and nothing to worry about, but I do have a flushed face though which is annoying in winter when everyone accuses me of going on a sunbed. I just wondered if it was connected.
