Hi.

There’s not much info but the coeliac screen test result was reported as negative. Meaning coeliac disease unlikely at that point in time.

Did you repeat the test less than a week later to double check?? That states negative too from the above. Again meaning CD unlikely.

However was TOTAL igA tested?? Your two low results above may be inaccurate unless you had a normal Total igA result. IgA deficiency is rare but more common in coeliac patients than the general population.

If Total igA was taken and normal then negative test would be accurate.

Again though it only shows at that point in time. If you have ongoing symptoms or develop coeliac associated symptoms testing should be repeated and further investigation for a diagnosis done. Though rare it’s possible for blood tests to be falsely negative.

There’s also a correlation between extent of gut damage and positive blood test.

Hi Tinal25,

Welcome here. I agree with Research fan as your result was negative. Were you eating gluten for 6 weeks ? There is something called seronegative in Science. You have the disease because of symptoms but the blood test did not and will not pick it up. Is their Family History of Coeliac Disease ?

I noted you are on the Thyroid thread and Pernicious Anaemia. Some people on here are self-diagnosed. They give up Gluten and/or Wheat and feel better. Your Body, your choice.
