I know how you feel, Essexgirl. I too had to take food to a funeral the other week!

I love Summer but sadly, I don't eat salads .. I find that lettuce is impossible, it just sits inside me leaving me unwell; tomato gives me acid; peppers cause so many problems that they frighten me whether they are raw or cooked .. and well you get the idea.

I took my own food to a wedding reception in December. I thought I would be a real freak but amazingly several confided that they thought they had 'wheat' problems. The worst thing was probably the apologies from the hosts for me being unable to eat the food [which was a real gluten fest!] - when I was more than happy to take my risk-free packed lunch!

Its a nightmare i struggle going out with my friends i always feel like i'm the fussy one! The people i live with have a curry takeout every friday and have been for years and so i dont miss out on my fav naan i take my own flour and they make me a gluten free one:)! I do think people need to cater more for people with this condition.
