Afraid I don't have both, I just have hashi's. From my understanding, you may find your medication works a little better, or that you can reduce it slightly, because your gut will heal, allowing you to absorb the medication better. My OH (who is coeliac) finds his hayfever medication works a lot better since giving up gluten.
You might find you improve further by having a trial without dairy, soya and sugar.
Thanks Cooper - that does make sense, and I'm hoping might be some sort of an answer (ie that my meds are now a bit too high). Thanks for the diet suggestions - sadly I've tried dropping all those to no avail I'm afraid ;-).
I've seen your thread in the thyroid forum as well - I had similar issues in the mornings. They have calmed down quite a bit now, which I think is due to my taking probiotics. Your gut could probably use a hand to replenish the good bacteria that will have been struggling due to your coeliac disease as well.
A few tips I've found helpful are to increase the variety of fruit and vegetables in your diet. Oily fish is very good for gut health, as is coconut. Try taking a good probiotic for a while. Hopefully that will help calm your digestive system down!
