Sainsburys Finest do some lovely 70% dark chocolate bars - from Ecuador, Belgium etc. There are a few which have no soya lecithin in them & they don't say may be contaminated etc. Can't remember which particular one has no soya, so you will need to look on the ingredient list, but they are nice!

Try visiting Tesco Online. They have a wide range of chocolate bars and if you click on the item you are searching for it gives a list of all the ingredients, including potential allergens; e.g.

tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/p...

I too am a chocoholic.

Thankyou mathri i will also have a look at tesco aswell, the more choccy the merrier. Used to love green and blacks and lhindts but all say may be cross contaminated and its a risk you take then. Id prefer to go without if it says that. Been looking for a while now. But thankyou for your help.😊

Hi, may be worth checking out vegantown.co.uk as they specialise in vegan choc but a lot of them are also gluten free

Thankyou ukbusybee thats very kind as i wouldnt have thought about vegan confectionery. My brother is a vegan for many years so i will pass to him aswell, ☺

No worries. I’m gluten and dairy intolerant so usually meets both my needs. I can easily spend Β£40 stocking up from them. πŸ˜‚

Its expensive isnt it all these foods in a bid to stay well, it must be a pain being gluten and ldairy intolerant, im just celiac.x

I believe Aldis is gluten free and very cheap - possibly even lidls but can't remember. I know a lot of people go there to buy it :-)

Thats a shame aldis and mont roth brand they sell has got soya in, i dont eat soya because of thyroid problems. Whats your take on it on a gluten free level? People have mixed views on it.😊

Gluten was definitely the evil one for me as my health has been soooo much better since GF and everything I had wrong since i was a kid went away or reversed - apart from thyroid! - as it's already dead lol. I'm still eating soya at the mo but am planning to maybe take it out for a while and see if makes any difference at some point. I don't eat much of it anyway to be honest but we'll see :-)

After eight mints are dark choc and GF if you like them? I do sometimes have the lindt dark orange one - but to be honest, I've given up as react sometimes. Don't touch cadburies either as always come up in blisters. I stick to either kinder like their choco bons which are lovely and most of thorntons are GF, I think only one or two of their products have gluten in so maybe try there.

:-)

I've just looked on my packets of 85% Swiss choc from tescos, Equador 70% from Lidl and 60% Amazonas from Lidl...no mention of wheat on any of them but all 3 are a "may contain" soya.. worth a try if the soya isn't quite so crucial? I guess that's there to cover themselves.

Thankyou naturalnatty, really do appeciate all the help ive had from people here, i love chocolate but do avoid soya because i have a thyroid problem so i do stay clear of it.😊

Yes, it's a shame when they say they may contain something we are sensitive to. They probably don't but possibly not worth the risk :-(

Hope you find some ! πŸ˜›
