Soy, or soya, lecithin is a gluten-free food because it is not made from wheat, rye or barley. While soy lecithin by itself does not contain gluten, additives to lecithin may contain gluten. Consumers must do their own research into ingredients and gluten content, which can sometimes be confusing

Soya can be one of the cross reactor foods that your body thinks is gluten, so you may find you can't eat it. That's certainly the case for me. A lot of Cadburys chocolate do not contain soya lecithin, but be careful as some do contain gluten etc. Cadburys Twirls hit the mark for me 😀

My little girl (now 6 yrs old) from birth has been allergic to soya and sunflower lethicin. It is basically the dregs that help hold the food together eg, chocolate bars - it's the gloop that gives it its consistency. It doesn't contain gluten as my daughter is ana to gluten. Hope this helps x
