You will probably get a better response if you repost this in the pa forum. Think most go for holland and barrett b complex or solgar brand.

Hi pet-lamb, its not just taking B12 that's important it's helping your body to absorb it and cider vinegar is very good at helping our bodies utilise iron and iron supplements, by increasing stomach acid and because apple cider vinegar is a very good natural source of vitamin C.

One good way of taking cider vinegar is to have 1 desert spoon of honey with 1 tea spoon of apple cider vinegar and half a tea spoon of lemon juice especially first thing in the morning and then using cider vinegar as a dressing for salads etc during the day.

If you want to increase your B12 levels with food the best way is small amounts regularly and if you eat meat liver pate is a good source.

You can ask your Dr about having a B12 injection or supplements but it's still important to have it in your diet regularly to keep your levels up.

And lastly iron supplements can cause other issues like constipation or the runs so I'd bear this in mind before buying too large a quantity, I say this as I can't take iron as it gives me the runs big time.

Hi again, just to add to this as I see you've been told that all vitamin supplements are gf on the PA site. This is within codex and many vitamin supplements use maltodextrin which can be a wheat derivative but is within codex and mannitol which is not only a wheat derivative but is also used as a laxative and many supermarket own brands contain mannitol. And mannitol really gets me.

It isn't just red meat that contain decent amounts of iron and my favourite non meat ones are sultanas, lentils and kale. And if you like chocolate then good quality dark chocolate is another good source.

And I hope that you get your iron levels sorted as being anaemic is a drag and really gets people down.

May I just say for iron levels (my father had a very low count for his blood) I cannot remember the numbers etc and my father did eat liver etc, he was told he couldn't have the operation as iron levels (blood count was low) he had needed the operations for more than 20 years so now was the time, he chose to purchase pure beetroot juice and started to drink a litre a day, within 2 weeks his iron levels and blood count was through the roof. Surgeons said whatever he was taking now to Stop and his operations went ahead 2 major ops 6 weeks apart. I take a powder which IS G.F does NOT use Maltodextrin etc, no GMO'D additives it has 82 minerals vitamins prebiotic probiotic and fibre. Everyone I know who has this including my mum has noticed a very great difference within a very short period of time (2 days to 3 weeks) of taking this. I have never looked back in 9 months of taking this and others. Sadly a lot of vitamins minerals etc sadly do use chemicals. Including Holland & Barrett. I was taking from so many places and never knew including BAYER the drug company makes vitamins? ???

Any info either p.m me or mail me at alibades_03@hotmail.com

Am happy to answer any questions.

I have been G.F since Dec 2015 I eat no wheat Rye Barley and Oats including Gluten free Oats. I cook and bake nearly all my own foods. Make sure I have plenty of raw beetroot and spinach Asparagus etc.

Wishing you well.

If your body is having trouble absorbing b12 (common for people with celiac) my neurologist recommend high b12 vitamin not a complex because they don't put enough in a b12 complex that is needed for someone with a deficiency. so buy the vitamin on its own. Let the tablet dissolve under your tongue to allow your body to absorb the b12. Look for a b12 tablet with at least 1000 mcg . Of course vitamin d helps you absorb vitamins as well but with people with celiac the lining inside the body is inflamed or scared making it hard to absorb vitamins so letting it absorb under the tongue works fast and great. I am not a doctor nor qualified nor do I know your medical issues to know for sure what would best fit your medical needs I'm just a regular person passing on advice from my doctor so always talk to your doctor about supplements to see what best fits you first :) take care and I hope this helps
