Hi there, here's a link saying that they are gluten free:
Buckwheat is apparently related to rhubarb, so yes, gluten free.
Kalo do lots of different sorts. I have some with sesame seeds and others with blueberry and vanilla flavour. I also got some with a marmite type flavour last year. I do like a bit of variety too.
I use buckwheat flour to make all sorts of things from cakes to crepes to American pancakes - must admit that in the UK it can be very very expensive I have seen it in Tesco at £17,50 a kilo but they sell it in Morrison's for about £2 a kilo - personally I buy it in France it's Sarracin there and it's what they make their galettes out of - we went to Kent show last year and there was a stall selling them, they made sure that mine were totally gluten free with no cross contamination - and they were superb
Thank you for the info. Or local whole food co-op, Daily Bread sells buck wheat flour, but it is often out of stock. Will try Morrison's. And gallettes in France ! Thanks.
it's with the normal flours in our store but it would be worth asking someone - I always wipe the packet down when I get it just in case
Must look for this buckwheat bet it would make a nice crumble topping.
