Hi trellborg, if a supplement made my back ache I'd stop taking it rather than take painkillers. So I'd look for a multivitamin that agree with you and or better still try and get plenty of vitamins from your diet.
I checked out Wellman ingredients for their original vitamin supplement and it's quite a list and appears gluten free from a codex point of view. But I see it contains modified starch,sucrose and glucose.
I found with calcium supplements I got lower back ache because my kidneys had to work harder to get rid of the excess calcium carbonate as we only absorb a fraction of it, so I stopped taking them.

Thanks jerry for your time and effort now reading your list i have noticed corm starch at present i have a problem with corn so maybe it is both as for the pain relief it wansnt for my back it was for tooth ache i just wonderd what pain relief is best for celiacs have a nice day
