How long does it take to recover when you have been glutened. Obviously realise it varies but would love to hear people's comments on this.

For me it depends how much gluten I've ingested. It can take anything between a couple of days up to a week. Copious amounts of water help.

A couple of slices of peeled ginger root infused in boiling water can be helpful.

It's difficult to know how long a reaction to gluten will last. I have found that the longer without gluten, the bigger the reaction tends to be, but I usually recover more quickly now.

Thanks will give that a try. I have been fine for months ,cannot believe I am going through it all again.

I was told by my doctor that it can take up to 3 months if you eat just say a small finger nail amount of gluten when you are coeliac

Hi,

It's several days for me. However my understanding is that it can take 3–6 months for your antibodies to gluten to go back down into the normal range.
