(If you are in the UK) I always think the best chutneys are homemade so if you are disinclined to make your own, try your local WI Market stall or farmers' market. The small producers are more likely to be using cider vinegar and their products won't be full of unpronounceable nasties. I got all of this year's pickle from a theatre group fundraiser - the first jar was so good I went back for another 6 jars from the same batch.

Oh yes, you just must try Tracklement's Farmhouse Pickle - totally gluten free and delicious. I bought 10 jars on line from gluten-freeshop.co.uk and they had a BBD of July 2015. I find it takes me ages to locate a GF product I love, and then it disappears!

Yes libsan you are right. Tracklements is delicious. I got mine from gluten-freeshop.co.uk as well - they do gf Worcester Sauce too and a chipshop vinegar. The Lea and Perrins Worcester sauce is not gf (only their US version). I checked with Coeliac UK and only the Tiger Tiger one is.

Unfortunately I still have to check that the vinegar is not distilled from Malt Vinegar which most recipes, hence the rice Cider option. Your really lucky to find such a great source Dartmoor Guerrilla,, Sometimes people find it odd when you ask what type of vinegar it is..there is no wheat or gluten in chutney" is the usual response, don't forget ones like Green Bean and Beetroot can be made with thickeners too. I trudge on making my own for now ha ha

Thank you people this is so helpful. I have not had any pickle or chutney for ages and really fancy some at Christmas - if not before! I don't feel like making it either!
