News on the Upgrade to HealthUnlocked

As many of you have noticed there’s been an interruption to service today with a new-look site that replaced the existing one. It was a big moment for HealthUnlocked - the changes come as a result of nine months of channeling feedback from 150,000 of our members who have come to us suggesting even better ways of communicating, sharing information and supporting each other.

Many today have been dealing with some of the early niggles and bugs and being very helpful with your feedback. We know how much many of you depend on this community. Heartfelt apologies if it has been a bit frustrating for some.

We guarantee:

- The new features will significantly improve what you can do in HU in future

- Other improvements will appear over the next weeks and months

- We won’t stop until we’ve ironed out any bumps

    I have a problem with the search facility. When I entered my topic (on gluten free guerrillas) the subject came up on other forums which I did not want. Also searching for members: only new members are displayed not the whole membership list.

    Blue writing on a green background is really really difficult to read if you have any kind of eye problem! Please can we have more contrast?

  • I think you need to look again at the design of the homepage. On the old format, we could see everything at a glance, with both posts and questions displayed clearly. Now roughly two third of my page is filled by the menu bars and the box with the cartoon character and green ticks. Everything else is below the fold or nearly so (and I have a 17inch screen so this is just wasteful of space) and the old posts and pages summary has gone. The new design is pretty, but it's not very user friendly.
