would really like to take sandwiches to work, but so far all the sliced bread I have tried is ok for toast but not very nice for sandwiches. I have only been GF for a few months, so still trying different brands, which I find vary so much, any suggestions ?

Looking for GF sliced bread to make sandwiches with.......
Hiya Violetblue- the best gf sliced bread I have found so far is the 'Glutafin Fresh Bread Select'. I get it on prescription, your GP needs to request a pack of 8 loaves. As is made fresh to order, can be eaten straight from the pack.. Like 'normal- sliced bread.. Doesn't need refreshing! Bonus! Nothing worse than a salad or peanut butter & banana sandwich made with warm bread! Usually delivered to your pharmacy, with just a few days 'shelf' life on the packs. So it's just a case of throwing them in the freezer. They do a range of white, brown & seeded loaves, rolls & part baked baguette type rolls. Know when I 1st contacted them, they sent me a range of vacuum packed free samples. Which worked out well, as wouldn't have wanted to request a large amount on prescription & then find out I didn't like it. Their contact details are glutafin.com & email:info@glutafin.co.uk.
I have also tried the crackers & baking mixes. Didn't have much success with the pastry or cake mix. The best one I have found for that is the Doves Farm gf flour, know they sell it in Asda-not sure about other stockists. Think it's about £2?
Good luck, hope this works out well for you too
Carona
The best bread i have found is, surprisingly, Tescos Free From unsliced loaf. Most breads crumble, and I find most gets wasted, but this stays in one piece. My daughter likes it. Dont know if you have tried it yet. Apart from this, we have found the Juvela part baked rolls and loaves are nice too.
Good luck

The best I have found, which lasts for a week if you keep it in the fridge is
Genius Multi Seeded Bread tesco.com/groceries/Product..., and I have tried them all!
Like Carona I too found the Glutafin fresh bread to be the best and great value as you can get 8 loaves for the cost of 1 prescription (if you pay, which I don't being over 60!) and if you get other items ie pasta and flour mix it is well worth getting a prepayment certificate. I do however find that the Glutafin White Mix is excellent for general baking and use it 'like for like' in recipes adding gf baking powder if 'self-raising' is called for, and friends and family can't wait to get hold of 'my' gf cakes in preference to 'their' bought ones!
Hi,
I've tried them all and have to say I'd given up hope on ever eating a sandwich again but my mum has just found Warburtons bread - its fabulous and perfect for a sandwich! Good luck x
