Are you on anti-seizure medicine? I have mini-seizures (strong smells and stomach turning over) and I'm on Levetiracetem (Keppra). We had to increase my dose to 750mg to get them to stop, but that has done the trick for me.
I was issued with Clobazam Accord Tablets to take one if I felt a seizure was coming on. I have never had to take them and the same as lupagreen take Levetiracetem (Keppra). I take a 500mg tablet twice a day.
You could also have a look at the Brain Tumour Charity's website page on epilepsy: thebraintumourcharity.org/l...
The BRIAN APP has a function where you can keep a record of seizures and allow your oncologist/health professionals to keep track of your progress, side effects etc.
The first thing would be to consult with your doctor to make sure you are on the appropriate dose of your anti-seizure tablets.
I've had to learn when a seizure may be coming on. There are signs that only you will come to know as it will be different for each person. If i feel a seizure coming on I instantly rest or sleep. Also taking some sugar such as an apple or fruit helps.
I have also been prescribed 2 drugs to help, but have not taken yet. The first is Clobazam which I can take if I feel a seizure coming on. The second is Buccolam (midazolam) which can be administered by someone who is with you during the seizure. Obviously you should discuss these with your doctor/oncologist to see if they are suitable for you.
hello😀 , yes like others have said check in with medical team and make sure Keppra dose is enough. I have recently had this updated and increased after two seizures- that and additional dexamethasone helped. I am 14 months post resection,gbm4, no more chemo thanks, considering another resection if possible(tumour back and growing , quoted 3months tto live but don’t listen to the numbers as they say 😀🧠⚡️- one day at a time my friends
in physical terms I lie down somewhere safe and then allow a week to recover from the head storm🧠⚡️😁… but a full seizure may be different from a pre seizure or different type / as usual no one mould for us all
do you get a headache
absolutely- if a full seizure may last a week of mixed stormy weather clearing in head - otherwise if smaller then a day 😁🧠⚡️guess you have to find that fabled balance between rest and pushing on to allow moving on
