Afternoon all. So my 73 year old Dad was diagnosed last June and had 95% of his tumour removed. He had three weeks of radio and chemo and has just completed his 12th round of TMZ in August with very little side effects (thankfully) The chemo has been doing the trick and there was a residual amount left in June which is brilliant.
He had a scan this week and we meet his new oncologist this coming week to discuss what comes next. What does come next? What questions should I ask? Is it acceptable to think that keeping him on TMZ will keep the tumour away. Or does he have a break and we just hope for the best outcome. We have taken every day as it comes and maybe we’ve become complacent as Dad is incredibly well, just a little doddery at times. I have that awful rollercoaster feeling starting up again!
Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated please.
Thank you 😊

Morning to you , My husband went thru the same, surgery in May, chemo pills and radiation for 6weeks, just had a mri for his new baseline, which was good, no tumor, his new oncology plan is 5 days of tmz a month with a new mri every other month for 6 months, after that an mri scan periodically depends on the results of the previous mri. My husband just finished his tmz for this month, it went well, he currently is doing well, has some nauseous and slight headaches, this has been an emotional rollercoaster as you also stated . My well wishes for your Dad and family. Lets all pray for the best outcome for everyone struggling with this disease.
Hello there. Thank you so much for replying. All the very best of wishes to your husband, you and your family too. That’s positive news so far, so keep going.
I guess we’re a year ahead of you here and hopefully that’s positive news for some folks out there too.
My Dad’a oncology appointment is tomorrow so we’ll find out then what happens next. We have everything crossed for good news tomorrow.
Hello CranesbillHoping your Dad is still doing well. Haven't been on in awhile. My husband had a reoccurring tumor removed in June, 13 months from first time...he started his 3 weeks with radiation, then he'll have a month off before starting Lumistine. He just spent 36 hrs in hosp for blood clots in his lungs, now is on a blood thinners.
His cognitive skills are declining, he has therapist coming in home to help, which is. This disease is so awful, I'm praying someday the Dr's will have a cure for this disease, along with other cancers.
I pray often, help my husband however possible, keep focus on the present, I know which is hard, Love every moment with your Dad. Stay strong and positive. Take Care.
