Hi, had a trabeculectomy on Feb 3rd. Had my monthly check up last monday, pressure was at 14 and bleb looked good so taken off drops. The blurriness has nearly gone but I now have what I can only describe as wavy lines vertically. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. Going back to consultant on 31st of March to make appointment for a trabeculectomy on the other eye, so any info would be helpful.

Wavy lines

Hi Magraw 31, I'd be very inclined to get it checked out . It might be an indication that the eye pressure has dropped too low, which it can do almost randomly after a trab. Before my trab my eye pressure was 15. A couple of weeks after the op it was 17, then next week 20. The week after that it had plummeted to 4, and stsyed at that level. If pressure drops too low you can get folds at the back of the eye which can distort vision. Luckily, that didn't happen to me. I got some puckering at the front of my eye because of low pressure but it doesn't affect my vision.I also got some distortion of straight lines after my cataract operation in 2022, shortly after I was taken off the steroid drops. It turned out to be inflammation at the back of the eye which needed treatment with anti inflammatory drops.
I hope you get it sorted out.
sorry to hear you have had these vision problems . I had a second trab on 27th Feb & like the first one I took antibiotic eye drops for one week as well as Dexamethasone which I continue to take for 3 months. Just wondering about your comment re stopping eye drops were these the antibiotic ones ? My pressure taken last week was 15 down from 28 pre trab. I had double vision for awhile after op which stopped after a couple of hours since then no problem with vision as in my first trab. I hope you get your issues sorted soon. Good luck.

Hello. I would call the eye secretary to make the consultant aware of the wavy lines before your appointment at the end of the month.
