I went for my 10 week check up and my presure has stayed at below 10 which is where the doctor wants it to be. im now not back in for a month. Does anyone know how many monthly appointments there will be now?. Also they said i can get my glasses prescription changed as i cant read alot of the reading chart with the present ones. Is it worth doing now or wait for my next appointment? Im thinking that i get a new prescription i might have to change them again. I would really appreciate some advise please

hi , unlike you my pressure is still too low causing blurred vision. I’d hold off getting new glasses as it seems that the eyes change a lot over the weeks and even the months. It’s not really a straight forward procedure at all.

I just really don’t know what it the best at all as when I used to read from the eye chart just two weeks ago on my last check I was able to see down to line 5 then today I found it difficult to even read the top line as it was so blurry and I had to squint a few times before I could read it. Even when they put the pin hole thing on I still had a lot of difficulty reading two lines. I just can’t afford to get new glasses now and then have to change them in a months time. This recovery is so up and down I’ve never known my eyesight to change so much every time I’m at a check up. I’m thinking of getting an appointment with an optician and getting some advise.

Sorry to learn of your frustrations with focussing. I have experienced this personally and have much experience with patients, particularly prior to small incision cataract surgery, when it might take couple of months for the focusing to stabilise. It is unpredictable. Try to explain to from whoever you purchase your specs that should you need an update a couple of months later, would they reduce the cost? And it should cost less using an existing frame. You just have to balance the expense against quality of life.

Hi Angel, I hope your vision settles soon - blurring is so worrying & difficult. There are UK firms online now that 'reglaze your existing frames' for far less eg costs quoted £6.99 & £9.99. Does anyone know how well this works? Apart from costing less, my partner & I prefer to recycle when we can.

I’m going to speak to an optician about the situation everything is a bit blurry at the moment and not being able to read the eye chart yesterday was horrible and for my eyesight to change in two weeks was a bit unsettling . They did say that my prescription would change so I will have to see what they say .

It's scary but try & stay positive. These things do take some time to settle. Wishing you all the best x

You are so right my eyesight has changed so much in two weeks it was a bit of a shock and I’m in work walking around hoping that if I get a new pair of glasses with another prescription it will be okay. At the moment every person I see is a blur and I can’t make their faces out. I’m a bit down today I don’t mind telling you. I’ve always had a high myopia but I’ve seen had such a drastic change in eyesight. They did a scan on my eyes yesterday and thankfully there is no more damage to my retina or anything else so I’m hoping a new glasses prescription will help me

Just send your frames, if they are in good condition. They cannot guarantee that the frames will not be broken, though.
