Hello everyone. I was wondering if anyone has experienced an increase in eye floaters after starting glaucoma eye drops.

Thank you

I have, but as I’m recently diagnosed and have lost some sight I’m not sure if it’s just a progression of the glaucoma. Another question for my next appointment

Good morning. I experienced an increase in floaters after starting drops for glaucoma. I went to get checked over by an optician because I was worried. He said it’s a normal part of ageing but I pointed out how sudden it seemed, too coincidental. I also mentioned it to my consultant who said the same. She wasn’t concerned at all. Which was reassuring but also a bit frustrating. Some days I notice them more than others.

I’m fairly newly diagnosed, having been on drops since January. I keep a notebook for any concerns & questions and take it with me to my appointments. I would recommend contacting your consultant if you’re worried. If only for some peace of mind. I’m going to mention them again at my next appointment.

Best wishes

Hello! As you mentioned, it's quite coincidental. I had floaters before starting my eye drops, but they worsened. If you don't mind my asking, which eye drops are you using? I'm currently on Monoprost. 😊

I’m on Monopost too. I started out on Latanoprost but couldn’t tolerate them. I had the occasional floater before starting drops, this was a significant increase.

Best wishes
